Role Purpose:
To deliver and operate an effective planned maintenance programme and provide pro-active engineering support to deliver higher levels of operational performance and efficiencies. To maintain an effective relationship with the Operations Team by embedding robust systems for communication and the resolution or escalation of engineering issues. To run an engineering team that is 100% statutory compliant and develop a zero loss culture. To assist in developing long term strategic plans for the maintenance of operational plant and equipment within their designated area of responsibility.
Specific Areas of Role Accountability:
1.To contribute to the development of the factories vision and strategic plan and to develop a strategy for zero loss and equipment maintenance
2.To develop engineering skills and knowledge within the factory promoting a professional team culture.
3.To monitor and control engineering budgets with agreed limits to deliver the most cost effective results.
4.To effectively control site engineering services to meet the factory requirements and drive improvements to all energy ratios.
5.To be proactive and implement continuous improvement with regard to line operating practices and equipment maintenance
6.To plan and co-ordinate routine maintenance activities and line overhauls to achieve maximum plant reliability and utilisation
7.To support the Regional/Site Engineering Manager to develop and regularly review the capital plan and to propose investment activities
8.Plan, allocate, and evaluate work carried out by the team, individuals, and self.
9.To effectively monitor downtime information and identify areas for improvement
10.To display leadership behaviours when managing and developing engineering technicians
11.To support the Regional Engineering Manager in developing the engineering strategy for the region
12.Utilise available Britvic Engineering problem solving techniques to improve plant reliability
13.Develop and embed robust systems for communication between Engineering and Operations.
14.Challenge the current ways of working, including behaviours and where improvements in performance/relationships with other teams can be made, implement these changes.
15.Ensure that health and safety is a priority for the team, working within our safe systems of work and contractor management control
16.Ensure the highest levels of engineering standards are applied to all tasks undertaken and that all statutory requirements are adhered to.
Develop and deliver robust KPI reporting on a weekly basis.
Required Skills
Experience & Skills Required:
Technical applications or engineering experience
People management experience in a FMCG company
Extensive change management experience both organisational and technical
Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, environmental regulations and manufacturing processes associated within FMCG
Experienced practitioner of engineering continuous improvement tools e.g. RCM
Working knowledge of production plant, equipment and an appreciation of engineering services used in the FMCG industry.
Experience of managing engineering budgets
IT literate
Good presentation skills
