The Old Brewery was founded in 1758 and is Yorkshires oldest brewery.
The present Head Brewer, who has been with the company for over 20 years, is due to retire in April so the Company are looking to recruit a Head Brewer to continue the innovative production of beers.
Reporting to the non-production joint managing directors, the Head Brewer is fully responsible for the successful running of the following departments:
Brewhouse
Fermentation
Cellar
Filtration
Kegging
Bottling
Quality Control
Cellar Services
Engineering
Specific responsibilities include
Control of annual revenue and capital budgets
Product Development
Delivering high level productivity and efficiency
All aspects of product quality
Sourcing of raw materials
Maintenance of the fabric of the brewery through liaison with the Company
architects department.
