Role Purpose:
To achieve optimum use of the operations resources through the leadership and development of team members, to produce quality goods within costs, delivering customer satisfaction. To liaise with the support functions and encourage effective teamwork to influence the development and achievement of the factory strategic plan and vision.
Specific Areas of Role Accountability:
To ensure all targets are met with regard to Customer service and reliability levels; Company and customer quality standards; Cost and wastage levels; Maintenance/Production/Despatch schedules; Factory attendance targets; Hygiene, Health and Safety, Fool Safety and Environment.
To continuously improve the performance of the operating team, through leadership of people to effect high performance of plant and processes, whilst creating an environment and applying the appropriate leadership style that enables a rapid response to fluctuating volumes and new product opportunities.
To develop each team member to their full potential, promote involvement and build the team towards self-sufficiency.
To lead or join functional and cross functional project improvement teams. To achieve their targeted benefit and to work closely with other Britvic functions to ensure the smooth introduction of new products/processes.
To recognise, reward and respect the value of team members and their contribution to the achievement of Company objectives, encouraging best efforts from individuals for their team, whilst maintaining the required disciplines and controls.
To help establish a strategic department plan and to implement the necessary tactical plan for the Factory, with appropriate milestones identified.
To compile and comply with annual staffing, engineering and consumables budgets consistent with the demands placed on the business unit by the Company plan.
To co-ordinate weekly/annual flexible working and product scheduling activities associated with the business unit.
Required Skills
Experience & Skills Required:
Strong people management skills
Process management in a manufacturing environment (FMCG)
Experience of using progressive HR policies
Knowledge of soft drinks manufacturing
