Wine Buyer Direct Wines
We are looking for a passionate and energetic wine buyer with a great palate, a talent for launching successful new brands, fantastic interpersonal skills and a drive to make a difference, to join our high-performing team.
The successful candidate will have experience of buying wine and be looking for the next step in their career. Fluency in French or Spanish is an advantage as many of our suppliers do not speak English.
The successful candidate will use their proven negotiation skills to source fantastic quality bulk and finished wines for our global customers.
The person we are looking for will have the ability to create successful brands and launch these to our international business. The wines we sell need to have a strong customer proposition:
How will this wine excite our customers?
What makes it unique and special?
How should we promote this wine to our international customers?
Supplier relationships are important. We believe that working in partnership with our producers is the best way to build a stable future. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills and will enjoy working with a range of different producers in different environments and will be able to forge strong relationships with each winery.
As an expanding global business, a Direct Wines Buyer needs to be able to work well in a global team and react quickly to the changes in international market demands.
Travel forms a key part of the role and the successful candidate will be able to travel independently and frequently, often at short notice, to visit suppliers and select wines.
