We are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about wine and sales to join our creative & dynamic Personal Wine Advisor sales team.
Wine Sales Advisor - OTE £24.5K + plus benefits - post probation (3 months) WSET qualification desirable
The start date: 21st March 2012
The Role is based at Head Office in Theale (just outside of Reading, Berkshire)
What we do:
We sell a wide range of exclusive and specially selected wines via telephone contact to our customers. We provide unbeatable service and wine advice and aim to build lasting one-to-one relationships. Our team is highly professional and there is a great deal of responsibility and trust placed on individuals to deliver results without close supervision. Previous sales experience is helpful but not essential, this environment tends to attract people who have perhaps worked in high street wine retail for several years (normally, but not exclusively, having reached management level).
An excellent career opportunity in its own right, this is a sales role within a very well respected and hugely successful wine company. The successful candidate would be joining an incredible team of highly motivated individuals with a passion for wine. Success in the sales department provides a base of experience which has been used by previous team members to move into other areas of the business such as marketing, events, copywriting, wine buying and corporate sales.
We are looking for:
Existing wine knowledge and qualifications to WSET Advanced level are an advantage for Wine Advisor applications. Previous relevant sales experience is desirable, though not essential as sales training is provided, but an excellent telephone manner and customer service skills are a must. A strong work ethic and sense of responsibility combined with a positive outlook is essential this is a rewarding role but stamina and backbone to get you through the tough days is definitely a requirement!

Laithwaites Wine offer excellent benefits which include: flexible shifts within a 35 hour 5 day week - a continuous program of improving wine knowledge in-house with our team members having regular access to the tasting room and in house producer presentations. Sponsorship for employees for their WSET studies (dependant on certain criteria including a period of successful service). Life Cover at four times basic salary - Sickness and Health Insurance - Pension plan after two years service (company contributes 7.5% employees can also contribute up to 7.5%). Attendance at wine tastings and wine festivals. Competitive bonus package as well as exciting sales incentives such as visits to vineyards at home and abroad.
